Clinical Advisory Board
The clinicians who review what Mamavi tells people, so that a tool used at 3am by an exhausted person is right about the things it claims to be right about.
Why the board exists
Mamavi makes claims that a person may act on. It says a contraction pattern looks like 5-1-1. It plots a growth measurement against a percentile curve. It scores a postnatal depression screening. It lets an AI assistant answer a question about a symptom.
Every one of those is a place where being casually wrong could send someone to hospital too late, or keep them home when they should have gone. A clinical advisory board is how a software team stays honest about the limits of what it built.
What the board reviews
- Every clinical threshold and alert rule in the product — including the 5-1-1 labour pattern, past-due detection and the triage queue’s severity ordering.
- The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale implementation: scoring, the wording shown to users, what happens at each score band, and what is deliberately withheld from the AI assistant.
- Growth percentile curves and the reference data behind them.
- Josephine’s system prompt and refusal behaviour — specifically, where the assistant must stop answering and hand off to a human clinician or emergency services.
- Any user-facing copy that could be read as clinical guidance, including onboarding, empty states and push notifications.
- The clinical export format, so that what a provider receives is genuinely useful in a chart rather than a screenshot dump.
How the board is composed
We are recruiting for practising expertise rather than titles, across the disciplines that actually touch a perinatal course: obstetrics, midwifery, certified doula practice, perinatal mental health, lactation consultancy, neonatal and paediatric nursing, and clinical informatics.
Members serve a fixed term, review on a regular cadence rather than on demand, and are compensated for their time. Compensation is disclosed here once appointments are confirmed.
Independence and conflicts of interest
Board members disclose any financial interest in Mamavi Health, Inc. or in a competing product, and recuse themselves from any review where that interest is material.
The board can require a change and can require that a feature ship with a stated limitation. It cannot be overruled quietly: if we ship against a board recommendation, we say so on this page.
